Deep Saros

Post by noctiferus » Sun Jan 02, 2011 10:32 pm

I got a few results from blitz(zz!)games between Deep Saros and other top engines ( 2m+3 sec in my ancient Pentium M). The feeling that I got is that he is quite strong, at least in very short times...
I would plan to test him now on my i7. Did anybody else find that he is worth of a try?
Txs

Txs, JS.
So I'm not alone in thinking he is extra strong...

My unqualified opinion would be that DS is as strong as some of the best IH compiles . A notch above R4 , but not in Houdini's league.............

your feeling is just like mine.
I hope to start in a few days a little tournament between the "best fives" on an i7.

Deep Saros is a fairly weak version of that family.

Best,

" Deep Saros is a fairly weak version of that family. "

A new version is out ..... DS 2.3e2

More tests needed.......

Another nice result for DS , this time 2.3e2x64 .......

Rybka rallied late in the match , going +3 the last 10 games , to keep the score respectable..........

Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 CPU 870 @ 2.93GHz 8.0 GB Memory
Windows 7 Home Premium Edition (Build 7600) 64 bit
Fritz Benchmark:
Speed: 13.09
KNS: 6280
GUI: Rybka 3
Book: Crasher 3.2-10 moves
Hash:256
TB , RB and GTB: ON
Ponder: OFF
Blitz: 10.0

Code: Select all

1 Houdini 1.5 x64 3190 +3/-1/=16 55.00% 11.0/20
2 DeepSaros.exe ver.2.3gs 3150 +1/-3/=16 45.00% 9.0/20
Blitz: 15.0

Code: Select all

1 DeepSaros.exe ver.2.3gs 3150 +11/-5/=24 57.50% 23.0/40
2 Deep Rybka 4 x64 3190 +5/-11/=24 42.50% 17.0/40
The second match was real surprise to see new DS beating Rybka so badly.
Will try the same with Houdini at 15 min compared to first match at 10 min.
