This is the winner. Maybe it's time to wrap this thread up, though. I posted the original link in, as Harvey wrote, good faith, and didn't intend this to become a referendum on Harvey's character. Clearly I underestimated the reaction that would be evoked. However, class cuts both ways, and I think this has gone far beyond the frontier of insulting posting. Can we drop it?

Let me add, again, if anyone wants to start threads compiling complaints about ChessBase policy/enforcement of said, support for said, etc., please feel free to. I'll specify that both for and against viewpoints are welcome (cheers, Rob).

thorstenczub wrote:chris forgot the blackmail issue.

so far i have seen 2 people behave similar like you:

peter skinner blackmailing to ban somebody if the guy is not doing what he wishes,
christopher conkie blackmailing to publish private email if the moderators are not doing what he wishes them to do.

your behaviour of threatening to publish data about the person if your ban is not lifted
falls exactly into this category.

parvenues who blackmail other people in a hobby computerchess scene !!

how do we call people who misbehave this way in an hobby computerchess area ?!
;)
i guess you know the best how we call those people.

Not sure this will make the final cut in the movie Thor. Can you maybe rewrite the script a bit? Maybe add some of the Private emails you have published? I think it would make the movie seem a little more believable.
