Re: State of Decline For Topalov?
I haven't seen any good performance from Topalov recently, he had lost a lot of points in International team event while playing for Bulgaria. His weird reasons for declining any invitation to top tournaments ain't looking too good. Tough year for him.kingliveson wrote:

In the next list, probably Ivanchuk will get one of the top few ranks.

I'm impressed with Nakamura's progress, he seems to be on his way to 2800.

Re: State of Decline For Topalov?
yeah he's played a lot of games, 166?! that's too much for top Grandmaster. It's understandable though that he hadn't had an opportunity to play in Europe because he wasn't invited to top tournaments until later. Playing as many games as possible is the right move for him since he's strong enough and will have more opportunities in future.Robert Houdart wrote:I'm impressed with Nakamura's progress, he seems to be on his way to 2800.

I think Anand probably did damage to Topalov's confidence after the defeat he gave him at home even with his 10,000 core CPUs used for preparation -- "the cost would give one a heart attack if revealed."
