Hi there, how are you doing? I see that you've been very busy, I'd like to know if you intend to join the WBCCC that is starting in January? It would be great to see you there!

Hi there!! Yep it has been a couple of crazy weeks, new responsibiliies, new team at work, and lots of change (thankfully for the better). How are you doing?

I wasn't aware of the WBCCC. I think it would be a a lot of fun! Definitely interested, I guess all I need is drop TheHug a line to let him know right?

I think your opponent's 62... a2 ?! may have helped you a bit! :)

Sounds great... has there been a final decision on time control? There was a lot of discussion and it wasn't clear to me if there was.

I think Uly's advantage is decisive, but it would be awesome if I could find a way to draw :D

I spent most of my analysis time trying to find a win against 62...fxg4, so a2 was very surprising, I thought you had some deep drawing plan, so I'm more confident that I'll manage to win this extraordinary game after your last comment :)

As for the WBCCC, there hasn't been a final decision about anything yet, TheHug is still getting feedback on the format and it'll also depend on the number of players in the end. I'm not liking much the latest comments by Gavin Gray, the games may have incremental time controls (thus making the "Blitz" part a farce), and one would only play 5 different opponents in the entire tourney (which would be quite a waste), but I'm still hoping things change for the better before the tournament starts, a lot can change in 2 months.

I can see how format and tc will be make or break for many people, including me. January will be a much better month for me timewise, as right now it would be impossible for me to commit to a serious game (not that this one isn't serious but you know what I mean, playing without computer assistance in that tournament is pointless ;) ).
