I am going to buy a new computer system soon, for analyzing chess, playing online, and solving puzzles.
What is the best LCD monitor for this task, in your opinion? I am looking for something around 24 inches,
like the HP zr24w or the Samsung Syncmaster BX2450. I would prefer something new, like the Samsung,
if it is substantially better.

Re: Best LCD monitor for chess?
Chess is typically played in two dimensions, so any monitor can be used with any video card. This being the case a larger monitor would be best as it is easier on the eyes. It is not the same as asking what monitor works best for gaming!notyetagm wrote:I am going to buy a new computer system soon, for analyzing chess, playing online, and solving puzzles.

Unless you are doing millisecond-rate blitzing, where the refresh rate might prove decisive.
