BTW (sorry), "Bishop Value=325" is a default parameter. Please delete it in the setting "OPTIONS".

But yes, Knight Value=330 is new (higher number then for the bishop). All others settings are new to!

Have fun! 8-)

Hi,
that settings has been tested vs Rybka & Houdini or against more engines ?

Tested by me against only Deep Rybka 4 (with a very well result) and against Houdini 1.03a.

Both tests with permanent brain. The test against Houdini 1.03a is not finished, played are at moment 36 from 120 games (with the 60 variations from the "new rating list"). Result at moment:

Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, Blitz:3' 0
GUI Fritz 10
Hash 128 MB, 128 MB
PB on
Endgame Databases, EGTB's only GUI
Both engines with only 1 core

Code: Select all

1 Houdini 1.03a w32 2_CPU +39 ½1½0½10½½½½½½1½½½1011½½½½½½½½1½½½½½½ 20.0/36
2 FireBird 1.1 w32 (EN-Setting) -39 ½0½1½01½½½½½½0½½½0100½½½½½½½½0½½½½½½ 16.0/36
We will see how will be the result after 120 games? It looks at the moment, that Houdini on level 3m + 0s, is a little stronger. I have only 1 PC for all what I do. --> I hope that I can run the next all games in the next days.

Thank you for the answer.

The reason for the question was Knight value settings > then Bishop. If it would work against more engines it will be the new big fact for the K vs B value discussion.

If i remember good in CM6000 only the personality Lasker has had Knight value > Bishop.

New result now after 58 from 120 games (60 variants of the new rating list):

Code: Select all

Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, Blitz:3' 0

1 Houdini 1.03a w32 2_CPU +9/-6/=43 52.59% 30.5/58
2 FireBird 1.1 w32 +6/-9/=43 47.41% 27.5/58

It will played 120 games, then the "new rating list" testsuite have 60 variants with 120 games for one match.

Currently standing after 80 games:

Code: Select all

Core 2 Duo 2.66 GHz, Blitz:3' 0

1 Houdini 1.03a w32 2_CPU +17/-12/=51 53.13% 42.5/80
2 FireBird 1.1 w32 +12/-17/=51 46.88% 37.5/80
As example here are the last two games 79 and 80 (variant 40):

Peace be with you!
