Can you do this test ?
Re: Can you do this test ?
Hi all,
I am reading without understanding much from this thread, I am puzzled... Can somebody kindly tell me what the objective of these tests is?
Eventually, is there a useful conclusion as an outcome?
Thanks!

In training mode, the engine has to try even the bad moves in order to learn :rulleeeee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 12:03 pmTest 2a

In tourney mode, the engine respects its EXP file as much as possible :rulleeeee wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 12:03 pmTest 2b

Why did the game end so quickly? Because in chessbase when I accidentally turn the mouse wheel the engines stop playing so I decided to predict the victory myself (you can see from the engines' evaluation that the victory goes to white's advantage)

Re: Can you do this test ?
Hi, thanks for the feedback. I did see this post but it didn't look that conclusive to my understanding: different settings provide different behaviors, yes I can see that. So what? It was to be expected.deeds wrote: ↑Fri Nov 22, 2024 1:15 pmHi tibono, maybe you missed this post :

Oh, I think I see your point now: test1a settings shouldn't be used for serious games, correct?
I didn't run the test, I didn't want to install a new engine just for that. Nonetheless interested, for my understanding... thanks again.
Regards,
Tibono

No problem, other members were kind enough to do the tests to better enlighten the chess community.tibono wrote: I didn't run the test, I didn't want to install a new engine just for that. Nonetheless interested, for my understanding... thanks again.
There was no need to install anything, just run the downloaded engine...
