Re: Top 5?
I think Rybka 4 is few elo better than Houdini 1.02 from the results I've seen so far. Ivanhoe could equal Rybka.xshat wrote:So are the top 5 engines (all within 50 elo of each other) generally concluded to be:
Fire 1.31
Houdini 1.02
Rybka 4
Stockfish 1.8
IvanHoe55
And from testing, (short and long games), is there an order that can be accurately established?
It might be interesting to run the 2000 games match between Firebird 1.1, Rybka 4, Ivanhoe and Houdini 1.02
Ranking might be:
1. Ivanhoe/Rybka 4
2. Firebird 1.1/Houdini 1.02
3. Stockfish 1.8

Re: Top 5?
I've read many times that Firebird 1.1 is the strongest in the series. I haven't done any tests though.
