Sharing Stockfish-derived engines to the public without attaching the source code is completely against the GPLv3 license rules and it is illegal...
Just pointing it out...
If you are going to do that in the future then keep the engine to yourself.
And, by the way, someone who just "modifies" Stockfish should not be called "developer" lol...
Private engines can be spread easily, ain't you using Eman?, how is he spread?
obviously its not the author who is going to forums and posting isnt it? good
You answer does not have anything to do with what I wrote. If someone spreads Eman it is not my fault either.
Stockfish developers already took actions against it some time ago...
Again, it is illegal and it goes against the GPLv3 license, as easy as that. I am just pointing it out.
Excuse me but who doesn't know that?
Many are aware of course..but who cares ?)
Btw, actually from my point of view (as a tester)
The bad news is that,
Many SF Based ones are releasing with same bugs...
Yes...many included GPLv3 license, but stability is more important !
At least in my eyes..!! e.g one of these serious bugs:
Crashing with '64' concurrency...or as other CTG bug:
Preferring the lost games ...this bug is really annoying..
And I am not going to count, which are those buggy engines,
Because I am afraid to miss to count some of them...
But believe Me... too many for sure !!
And I wonder,
Who will be this 'hero' who will manage to fix...
And fo right now: Raubfish SC is better than them..
Less DRAWİSH ...more STABLE..what we can need more ?)
Greetings )
Who cares?! LOL!
Stockfish developers do all of their work voluntarily, for free and open source!
And some people just know to rename the engine and sell it commercially without even attaching the source code. Others claim they created a new engine and attribute all the work of the Stockfish Developers to them, without even mentioning them in the engine startup.
You dont care about that? Really?
If someone started to steal all of your work and for example sell it commercially you would not care? This is a joke.
By the way, Raubfish is old (quite outadated) and bad. It may provide less drawish games in your book testing conditions but that does not mean the engine is better itself anyways.
I would like you to mention all the buggy engines also...
What are are talking about ?
Actually this is as joke that you say Raubfish is bad...come on..
And via great Raubfish SC engine :
You can not imagine..how thousands of successful games played..!!
And just in case..with the buggy ones.
Believe Me... I would lost my interest since a long time...
And I say again:
Raubfish SC is better than all those buggy chess engines!!
And be sure...for a experienced tester who looks for stability and fun:
Approx. +10 Elo means nothing...!!
On other hand,
When you provide/inform better engine (less DRAWİSH and more STABLE than than Raubfish SC,)
Then I will try to inform you about those buggy engines, which are worse than Raubfish SC
Btw, actually I already mentioned...you should know some of them...right ? or you forgot already ??
And to be more clear (if you will suggest about which are better than Raubfish):
Tell please the best/better engine for 'book tours' on my tournament hardware:
[Dual CPU] AMD EPYC 7B12 128 Cores /256 Threads
If you can not...please...ignore my current posting...
