Since you mentioned about 25 years experience in eng test..
It is something like a good dream..and sometimes I wonder,
How fast all this long period past in very short time ?)

Btw, since we talk about new tour ideas etc. let Me say:
Since (2020) NNUE is appeared on computer chess's scene,
The situation has been changed a lot..especially nowadays,
Via 3750+ vs 3750+ to get a win became almost impossible!
Exc. via critical weak opening lines we may see some wins!

And as I stated before,
Testing engines via very weak lines is not so good idea,
Otherwise, we'll need thousands of games (per player),
Sure I mean for right and accurate Elo standings!

On other hand, (if using strong openings), this time
I see no point of testing these beast engines, e.g just
In case of optimal cond. the draw-ratio is close to 99%

In other words, (for solution/for more fun) I think that
There are some logical, reasonable alternatives and it's
All in our hands... and we have to do our best...!

Btw, for book tours (according to my strength tests),
Raubfisah SC is best: still strong..plus less Drawish!

Meanwhile,
A new idea is born (for my next planning tour):
I hope to test 3750+ Elo vs mainly 3650-3700 Elo
But using Balsa openings (instead of Unique...)
In this way, no doubt that we'll see fun again!
Plus best engines will show its real power as well!
And I wonder, What do you think about new tour idea ?

More Details:
For better conclusion we need more games, but it's clear that
Some of the Top chess engines are performed better, some worse!
However, I think that these stats can't be taken as very serious data,
Because, small test..for better stats, we need much more testings!
Note: 2nd Tour (Bullet + Blitz) is not so good idea for exp stats..
Otherwise, we'll have troubles in recognizing the exp influences!
For this reason, only 1st and 3rd tours published for comparing..

Breaking News - 11.09.2023:
Well, current championship ended, congrats and many thanks to all!
Normally the plan was to be resumed but anyhow, I have good news:
Very soon I hope to organize a new book tour but as next under Fritz,
That means in same time I missed a lot testing CTG opening books )
Note that in planning tour: all books will be allowed (Private + Public)
Plus as usual, all books will be played by same engine: Raubfish SC
And for more fair cond.. any CTG's book learning will be disabled..
As reason, (if Learning ON) BIN books may suffer vs CTG books
Ok..that's all for now..and please be ready for the real 'ARENA' !!

Well, just a piece of advice, if you check "Experience book", the engine will only repeat what it has learned ad nauseam, if by chance there is an error and you lose the engine in "X opening", it will continue to lose no matter how many times you repeat that opening ...For the engine to "learn", you must play with the "Experience book" disabled. Now, if you think that the engine dominates "X number of openings" then activate "Experience book".
