26 Jan 2023: Charisma Light 1.0 released!

Charisma light 1.0 is a super powerful UCI engine based on Stockfish dev. Charisma Light has an active playing style, and is excellent for analysis, as well as blitz and rapid chess. I have renounced all features to keep a pure search code. Learning files are useless in my opinion when playing with good opening books. A learning file that was created with older engine versions also prevents the development of a newer and more modern engine version! In addition, the learning file throttles the speed of the engine. I always use GUI opening books, so I don't need polyglot book support. However, MinimumThinkingTime is important on online servers when playing without bonus time. I recommend a value of 100 (100ms). In my 2022 EN test, the engine scored 115 out of 120 points. Download textfile on my homepage.

Charisma Light 2 is a powerful UCI engine, based on Stockfish dev. Charisma Light 2 has an active playing style and is excellent for analysis, blitz and rapid chess. Because of the efficient and tactically strong search, it is even possible to play on servers like PlayChess with only one core (picture). In my test on PlayChess, I played 307 games in a row with only one core (2400 kns) and I didn't lose a single game. One of my opening books was used. All these games on my homepage for download. Learning files are not necessary! However, I have implemented MinimumThinkingTime, I recommend setting a value of 100 (100ms) for games on the server. Offline 0.

Charisma Blitz is a powerful UCI engine, based on Stockfish dev. Charisma Blitz has an active playing style and is excellent for analysis, blitz and rapid chess. Charisma Blitz has a fast yet accurate search. On Feb 8th, 2023 in the blitz tournament on PlayChess, Monster PC (850000 kns) was defeated --> game:

Learning files are not necessary! However, I have implemented MinimumThinkingTime, I recommend setting a value of 100 (100ms) for games on the server. I plan to update the engine once a month (with latest Stockfish patches).
