Does anybody know if there will be any more version of DON or was it a one time celebration of Don Dailey?
Anyway, I quite like this engine, it's similar to Stockfish but seems to play the opening and middlegame a little better (at least in my opinion), SF 4 001 is still better in the ending, but if DON got access to the GTB bases it would probably improve in that phase too.

Re: DON
The author frequently updates the source code. Look at the updates in GIT.
Re: DON
OK, I'll keep an eye on https://github.com/erashid/DON though I can't compile it myself
Btw, on the page it says "0 releases", so I wonder where those get published? I found DON 1.0b some months ago, but maybe it's not an official release...

I compiled and publish DON_1.0b,
can find it on my blog (in signature).
Then the author said was derived Glaurung, derived after stockfish.
DON has a branch with support Syzygy tablebases.
I would continue doing relases, but if the author does not fully defined its derivation, can not be.
