Yeah, well, I got a new laptop on Friday and these things take time. :-)

I have a new, merged local build here of the PA_GTB fork updated to SF4's latest as of a few days ago, but I haven't had any time to sanity check it or send it to anyone for testing. Won't be long now...

Oh that's a good news.. In case of testing PM me, u can trust me :)).. Latest builds are already strong when tweaked with your inputs, it should be very strong , no need of any tests :)..

Stockfish 4 PA_GTB 002 is released! No changes beyond updating to the tip of the upstream master branch (as of 11 Nov 2013).

Enjoy,

Hi folks,

This current version is not running on fritz 10, 12, or arena, on my hpdv6000 laptop. Basically it is refusing to start. The 64 bit versions runs wel on my other 64 bit system, thought. I suspect it might a flag or two that may need some tweaking.

I am planning on compiling the 32 version using mingw, since this has worked well for other stockfish version on my laptop.

JB, thanks for the great work on the persistent hash. Your version with persistent hash, i believe will be a rquired feature in stockfish engines. it gives unmatched performance on long analysis and games.

My houdini 3 version, with "learning book" on it was unbeatable, until de advent of stockfish version november. Yet, on long games, houdini 3 still can't be beaten by stockfish november. that's how strong the "leaerning book" can be.

I will post my files, if suceed on compiling the 32 bit version.

Thanks.

By the way, if you want to test your engines against other setups like mine, you can bring them to chesscube.com

They have an engine arena, free to use. More details here: http://www.chesscube.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=5412

Sometime ago I tried two versions of SF3 GTB playing vs each other with the same hashfile. It worked fine for me, though after them following each other's analysis for 10-15 moves the defender starting playing other first moves than in the analysis. But I guess that was desperation as the position was turning into an clear win +5 and increasing for every move...

I am using the newest release and ive tried the older release(in M00se zipfile)all with same problem.. after game begins.. engine plays few moves.. the sits and stops moving.. it shows eval as in pic below and everything.. but nothing.. when i go into fritz GUi and do searches and tb hits making sure myTB'S are working everythng works fine.. below ive shown a picture of my settings and what my engine looks like when I play anybody in playchess ..every game after first 1 or 2 moves engine plays nomore after I go out of book.. PLease can anybody help me.. Im using an intel i5-3570k chip and it has no hyperthreading(which shouldnt matter..)its 4core/4thread).. please help.. ive tried lowering my overclock from 4.5 to stock sped and everything else for past 2 days.. anybody else have anyideas?
