Stockfish 4 PA_GTB
polyglot.ini
Hi Jeremy,
I've managed to decipher some of theboss's post and it seems that in your distribution there's indeed a polyglot.ini for a vanilla stockfish. Are you interested in including an updated file with all the new options added?

Re: polyglot.ini
To be honest, only if someone provides me with one, in which case I'll include it. Like I said, I have no experience with nor particular interest in Polyglot stuff.petevine wrote:Hi Jeremy,

Re: Stockfish 4 PA_GTB
Hello Jeremy,
I've attached Polyglot.exe file and polyglot.ini
1) Polyglot.exe is just UCI settings file((No chess engine)). (Additional UCI options which are not available in Stockfish. Persistenet hash etc) (The file i provided dont have persistent hash or other options u included.. So expect u to add those options in this polyglot)
2) Polyglot.ini file is the default configuration with path to engine file
Now to make this work we need 3 files
1) polyglot.exe 2) Polyglot.ini 3) Stockfish engine (any version)
Save all the three files in same directory, open Polyglot.ini and add the engine path. Now in fritz open Polyglot.exe.
Polyglot.exe looks for polyglot.ini and maps the engine (whichever in the path).
Whats the advantage in this method: By using settings as separate file we can use the same settings for any engine, and don't need to compile again and again just change the engine in the path the settings are retained.
Hope i made the points clear if not pls ask me.

Re: Stockfish 4 PA_GTB
In short, can you compile STOCKFISH PA_GTB file without engine in it.
So the STOCKFISH PA_GTB.exe file settings are only retained in the compile.
