To clarify, they split by file for 6s, but not for 5s. So that might affect a ratio comparison.

I also attach a list of sizes of TripleBases both uncompressed and when compressed with bz2, though as I say, straight Huffmann might be a better comparison.

I think I've finally figured out why the GTB didn't work. The hash-file in Houdini (131MB!) is probably too big. GTB works again when I remove the engine's link to the hash-file.

But how do you reset the hash-file to the starting 30kb ??? I've tried removing the hash-link, pressed "clear hash", removed the hash-file to the dustbin, started the engine briefly and then choosing save to hash - but every time I end up with the 131 MB being reborn in the Documents folder?! Is it saved somewhere else too or what? :difus_22
