Re: Houdini 2.0 running for the IPON
Hi,
This morning I discovered that I forgot to include the Gaviota Tablebases. Even if I only use the 4pc version the current run is not according to my normal standard. As it is interesting to see if there is any difference I will finish this run and start it imediately again WITH 4pc GTB. The latter will be included in my list.
As a side effect we have a nice test about the influence of Tbs!
Sorry for the inconvinience

Did you tune Houdini to your system (autotune), or are you using the default settings?IWB wrote:Hi,

Default, no settings!Jeremy Bernstein wrote:

Jeremy
But as I am running on one core and autotune is used for split depth which helps for more cores it doesnt matter.
Nonetheless, the default is 10, the best setting would be 12, but the difference between both is 2% in speed (when using 6 cores). Hard to prove that difference in Elo!

Finaly finished: http://www.inwoba.de
The "official initial" result is online now!
In the download I added a "game.pgn" with the results (and only results!) of all the games of the IPON in case someone want to do some own statistical tricks.

Re: Houdini 2.0 running for the IPON
Easy! It was a request at Talkchess. You can put this into any statistic program to get your own results, you can eliminate engines, e.g. delete all weaker ones to see if an engine performes better vs better or weaker opponents ... a lot of things are possible. All one person needs is some imagination.kingliveson wrote:lmao, he is serious when he says, "and only results!"
What's the point without the games...Ok! I take your word for it.

Btw: It is an output of Bayeselo.

Re: Houdini 2.0 running for the IPON
Ingo, please, do not take it personal. Your integrity is not in question, but rather that it is a bit peculiar for a ratings list not to publish or want to publish the games when requested. Is it that you are afraid people might make books out of the collection? I don't use playchess myself, nevertheless, so what if people want to utilize your games for such purpose...IWB wrote:Easy! And by the way, what you published as results (which snippets I pasted), can easily be generated without ever playing a single game. I can produce you a script that does exactly that.
