I was looking to run some engine matches, no opening books, from fixed starting positions.
Example: 1. e4 c5 2. d4 cxd4 3. c3
I'm not sure how to do this.
Does anyone know how to set this up?
Thanks in advance.

Thanks, but that contained no instructions on how to do it for the Fritz GUI.kingliveson wrote:

I'm interested in running matches from one fixed position, not a suite of positions either randomly or sequentially.

You mean using something like epd files. File >> New >> Engine Match... (Tournament...) : 'Opening DB' button. Not sure if this is what you want.LiquidNitrogen wrote:Thanks, but that contained no instructions on how to do it for the Fritz GUI.kingliveson wrote:

Edit: Only way I know with Fritz using a start up position is through either pgn or epd file.

Of course, another way is to create an opening book with only one line.kingliveson wrote:You mean using something like epd files. File >> New >> Engine Match... (Tournament...) : 'Opening DB' button.
