in the moment i am testing advanced chess by
version 0.1.2 with stockfish 1.7 engine
by Matthias Eck.

In the about box, he thanks:
Niel Pearce, Rick Boatright, Tord Romstad, Marco Costalba, Joona Kliski,
Salvo Spitaleri.

the chess program for palm pre and palm pre plus can be downloaded as freeware
and gives a good b/w chess board, you can also choose many different levels, also 3' average, so that i can play tournament chess games (40/120) with it.
you can set it up the way it shows main-line and evaluation (in this version 0.1.2 no search depth is shown, but matthias promised to make it visible in later releases).

the gui is written in java, but the engine is a true full speed running application,
such as droidfish for android phones.

due to the fact that i cannot see any search depth and no NPS, it is difficult to relate
the speed of the device with other hardware/mobiles/tablet pcs.

maybe matthias can, in later releases, show search depth / NPS so that we can relate the hardware/OS.

on the 500 mhz original palm pre speed, stockfish 1.7 under advance chess gui is doing ~8.000 NPS.

you can overclock the device to 800 mhz or 1 Ghz and the engine is computing either 13.000 or 16.000 NPS.

of course it would be the best to relate the engine , if it is 1.8 version of stockfish.
