October 4, 2024: MagicKnight by Solista

is based on the latest SF dev version of October 1, 2024.
In addition, the latest Stockfish NNUE network will also be
nn-a909389cbe3a.nnue used.

MagicKnight uses the Random Op MultiPV mode and is optimized for 3 variants (MPV=3, Plies=10).

Features: MinimumThinkingTime, Slow Mover The currently calculated move is already shown after 3s (and not as with SF dev where it takes a long time).

Download Windows 64-bit (avx2, bmi2, sse41, source code): https://pixeldrain.com/u/hyM7F7Sy and --> or

Weaknesses of engines with random op multi-PV mode, where several variants are investigated in parallel and later merged into one.

In positions with little difference in rating, such an engine therefore often fluctuates for a long time. Here you have to be patient and give the engine enough time. In endgame positions where the calculation is very low, it takes a long time to show the only true variant, that’s the price of this mode.

The strength of this mode: superior tactical impact!
For such analyses, this engine is also made.

Thank you very much Eduard !

Hey! MagicKnight with Random Op MultiPV mode definitely shines in tactical analysis, but it requires some patience in certain positions.With several variants being considered, the calculations can take longer, especially in endgames, The optimizations with 3 variants (MPV=3, Plies=10) do help, but you need to be patient! Overall, it's a great engine, but just remember that sometimes it might "fluctuate" in evaluations, Best used in situations where the priority is strong tactical analysis, not necessarily fast position evaluation. :)
