ChessGUI 0.186 is out there.

- I have cleaned up a lot of code and straightened some twisted logic.
- Format of books has changed !!

Is there anything that did not work for you in some older ChessGUI ?
The chances are that it will work now !

Book creation has a bunch of not yet activated options.

At least these 3 files should be updated: ChessGUI.exe, ChsGUI_Book.cgb,
HarrySchnapp.cgb.

I have just uploaded ChessGUI 0.186a to fix a bug that was perhaps totally harmless.

Only the T-Online server is currently accessible.

Bug trying to run a tournament? if parameter of one engine is edited, cannot edit a second. It only gives option for the same engine.

edit: Reloaded the GUI and it worked now.

Book.bk3 limit? I put in 170 MB PGN (~160k games) and got out < 60 MB book. Is there a 25k PGN limit?

Hi kingliveson,

there are no limits. The size of a bk3 book depends on:
- ply limit chosen
- number of won/drawn games in the pgn files
- number of unique positions reached within the chosen ply limit

Which ply limit did you choose ?
Anyway, < 60 MB sounds ok. You can see book details in debug files after games.
The book is only valid if you created the whole thing with ChessGUI 0.186(a).

Can upload the book somewhere for me to download and experiment with ? (I will not give it out.)

I stupidly discarded lost games of winning side. The losses are needed for sound statistics.
Anyway, ChessGUI is not through with implementation of book creation yet.

BigLion doesn't seem to support Epd testing in Arena. It shows up "Doesn't support edit mode" or some such thing.
Could this be corrected?

Hi Swami,

BigLion does support edit mode but cannot analyze as WB engine.
BigLion must be installed as UCI engine to analyze.
