Are you attaching the source code of the engine while selling it? Because if not this is completely illegal!
Anyways, there is no way someone buys an Stockfish derivate with probably copy pasted changes which are practically useless

Do they attach the source code when selling a private Dragon engine — no, and they do it right, because why should they https://komodochess.com/dragon-3.2.htm donate their work to someone for a penny!?!

It is not the same man, you are using the source code of Stockfish which is publicly available and licensed under GPLv3, you can sell a derivative but you ALWAYS have to attach the source code. What you are doing is completely illegal!
Dragon is a private engine selled by chess.com, they are not obliged to attach the source code if they dont want to. Do you understand now?
Anyways, what is so "valuable" and "innovative" about your work that you dont want to share it?! 3 copy-pasted parameter changes or something similar?

I take only part of the source code from Stockfish, so it's up to me to decide what to do with the engine and code, and absolutely no one is forcing you to make purchases.

It is not up to you, you are not complying with the GPLv3 license Stockfish is licensed with, therefore what you are doing is illegal!
Similar to what ChessBase did with FF2.
And I am sure you are taking the full Stockfish source code.
Anyways, yeah, lets end this discussion, I hope that people that make derivatives dont follow the same path as you, because it is not fair!
