Old GUI, Modern engine

Post by Ridire » Sat Dec 17, 2022 11:02 pm

Hi Everybody. I'm a newbie to this site so please forgive me if I ask a question that's already been answered. I am currently using Fritz 16 which, largely, suits my purposes as I am a (very!) senior citizen, playing regular league chess although at a much reduced rating than when I was younger. The engine I have installed is Stockfish 15.1 and I was wondering if I should purchase a more modern GUI. Would it make any substantial difference in the analysis of my games or games in general as, basically, this is all I use both of these programs for. Therefore the core of my question is, does the older GUI prevent the more modern engine from operating at its most optimum level?
Thank you. I look forward to your answers.
