I have the cp4 tbs as well and they work properly on Win and OSX.

a) Platform? Tb path? GUI?
b) How do you know they don't work or load? What are you doing, what is the expected result, what is the actual result?

My only non-default setting is the tablebase path: in my case z:\documents\schach\tablebases\gaviota\

Try launching SF in 'cmd' (or just double-click it). Type:

'uci'
'setoption name GaviotaTbPath value c:\gtb'
'position fen 8/k7/8/4Kn2/8/P7/8/1n6 b - - 0 1'
'go infinite'

Do you get the mate in 115?

Stockfish isn't getting to depth 229 by itself without the aid of tablebases. So it sounds like it's working -- you might have incorrect assumptions about the RAM usage. :)

Isn't that what ComStock is? I don't use RobboBases (first of all, I have no idea which ones are buggy or not, second of all, there's no official place to download them AFAIK, third of all, I don't use any of the engines that support them on any regular basis), so there is exactly a 0% chance of me adding this to the source. If someone else wants to add support, they're more than welcome to, of course.

not exactly no , your stockfish is stronger than official version and its not because of the the bases as i don't use them

old bases aren't buggy at all (new ones are )and you have them under your nose , on KLO's site as well as ipplolit wikie

dont sit on fence

say no :? :|
