Engines for mac?

Post by freeindeed » Thu Feb 24, 2011 12:54 pm

Hi, i have a macbook, and want the strongest possible engine for it. There is Shredder & Hiarcs. Rybka is not compatible without technical acrobatics. How about Houdini, Stockfish et al...

Thanks in advance for any suggestions :)

Stockfish, Komodo and you can compile IvanHoe for Mac, too, which is probably the strongest option, depending on how you define "strong". I do most of my chessing under Parallels with Windows engines, but generally use Shredder and HIARCS if I'm checking something Mac-side.

I simply want the best silicon 'advice' to analyse my chess games. Which is the best platform to run Stockfish and Ivanhoe on?
