Re: Obsidian 9.0
For now i considered obsidian as a beast from all the original engines apart from Dragon. So my plan is to test myb on the next version against Sf derivatives. Obsidian is strong but is unable to defeat dragon and dragon can't defeat sf its an obvious case. But I'll do a small test for you using my 2023 August engine.Homayoun wrote: ↑Sun Mar 10, 2024 11:45 amHas anyone tested this version- Obsidian11- vs stockfish or any other SF derivatives? It seems that now Obsidian itself is a beast. The tactical moves and continuations that this engine sees and calculates during games are really amazing. Adding the great positional understanding and fantastic evaluation to this amazing tactical capability, I can say only , Obsidian is a new beast.

Thank you very much Tanick. It is very interesting that this engine has very small size(3MB). But it evaluates and play all the openings even difficult ones like king gambit, Volga gambit opening and others very accurate. Now it’s a little stronger than Berserk. I think next version will pass from Komodo dragon too.

Re: Obsidian 9.0
Too bad there are no ”modern & popcnt” variants of this engine...

Hi Zamchess
I don’t know if Gabrielle Lombardo reads this post or not, if he is a member here or not. But you can reflect this directly on obsidian GitHub page as a comment and ask him to provide modern or popcnt binaries for next versions.

Thanks for the idea.
I entered the site but did not see to have ”contact” so I have nowhere to write.
All the best.
