1 Deep Rybka 4 x64 : 2421 75 (+ 21,= 42,- 12), 56.0 %

2 IvanHoe T0.7 x64 MODE_GAME: 2379 75 (+ 12,= 42,- 21), 44.0 %
and yes each engine was using 4 cores and default settings

i'm more interested in blitz and 4 cores though also doesn't matter the engine if one of the derivatives or not

A lot of engines claim to be stronger, particularly the IP* series. The tests don't seem to bear this out.

I wouldn't know about Ivanhoe. I've never been able to get any of the various versions to work on my Win7 system.

Looking at the IPON Rating List I do not see much difference between Deep Rybka 4 and Houdini 1.03a (none that I can understand that is) except a ~100$ gap in price.

Hi,

i run a Engine Match between Rybka and Houdini.

200 Games, 1 Min/0 Sek., 128 MB TS, no book, opening book Nunn2, Intel i7 940 2,93 GHz

Here are the results:

Code: Select all

1 Houdini 1.03a x64 POPCNT 4_CP +19 +52/=107/-41 52.75% 105.5/200
2 Deep Rybka 4 SSE42 x64 -19 +41/=107/-52 47.25% 94.5/200

Hi Thorsten
I agree ... a serious chess player is much more interested in analysing games and what
the engines are doing at blitz level is therefore quite irrelevant.

thanks kurt. i would say that there are chess engines stronger than rybka 4 on
NON blitz levels.

only most people do not test them.
