ok i did my match on my computer. i have amd athlon ii x2 dual 2.8ghz. yeah i know it's slower but i figure that much wouldn't change on more powerful computers because they'll both benefit proportionately, right?!?

each engine plays both sides of each opening and most openings i had them play twice, so 2 white and 2 black. strangely enough no 2 games are the same so for some reason variations in moves occur, maybe hash not being cleared, i don't know. i tried to play most of the major openings but have a lot more lines to go obviously.

30 mins each for whole game, ponder off, no tablebases, 128 mb hash.

firebird 11 drdeeb (+6=24-4) 18/34 52.94%
houdini 103a (+4=24-6) 16/34 47.05%

Bird 1. f4.......................+0=2-2 bird lost both whites
French Win 5. dxe4...........+1=3-0 bird won with white.
KID Samisch....................+1=3-0 bird white
NID 4. e3.......................+1=1-0 only 2 games
QGA Linares....................+0=4-0
QGD 5. Bf4......................+0=3-1 houdini won with white
Ruy Lopez Worrall.............+0=3-1 houdini white
Sicilian 6. Bg5 7. f4............+1=3-0 bird white
Sicilian Richter-Rauser........+2=2-0 bird won with white and black!

assuming the default firebird 11 loses badly to houdini, drdeeb's setting appear to be a great improvement! i haven't tested the default yet as this is very time consuming! but fun too. :)

Hello,

What is the minimum/shortest time control you suggest to test your settings? I have AMD Phenom X4 9850 running at 2.5ghz with 3gb ram and windows 7 x 64. Also does repeating or sudden death makes any diff? Thanks in advance. Really good job coming up with these settings. Dr. D for the president :)

regards,
Taner

Marhaba Tamer,
I suggest a minimum of 15 minutes + 15 seconds increment at least....I didn't test at sudden death time controls....
These settings top my rating list running on an overclocked quad at 20 minutes + 20 seconds....
