wow -- i've actually bookmarked this. i have run some LTC games between these 2 but never finished, & those used only one core (albeit with ponder on). this should be a great match with some amazing chess. thanks a lot martin!!

Thanks!

Two draws so far. Each opening is played twice, so that the engines will play both the white and black side of it.

It's the best way to do these kinds of tests -- both given equal chance.

First impression is that Houdini is a little bit stronger tactically, but R4 is better positionally. I think R4 (and R3) has more knowledge than Houdini. R4 is +2 now, but that may change.

DF 12 GUI crashed while running game 18.

It was almost drawn but the database was corrupted and it displayed game 18 as a 5 move draw.

It has now been restarted and the broadcast is back online.

Again, thank you for providing this live match. I miss game 17 in the game archive. R4 had an extra pawn in the endgame, but Houdini probably was able to draw in the end. Houdini really lives up to its name, having escaped with a draw from many difficult positions. (However, in game 18 it just didn't see it coming while R4 was very optimistic around move 24. R4 must have some superior endgame knowledge, and I'm not talking about the TBs that kicked in much later.)

Thanks for your support everyone!

Houdini won game 20 to make the score 11.5 - 8.5 in favor of Rybka.

Game 21 is underway, now we have a interesting King's Gambit (accepted), with Rybka as white. Game 22 will have the same opening, but with Houdini as white.

Anyone watched Carlsen play the King's Gambit in Bazna?

The game archive should be complete now.
