KOMODO!

After hundreds of on-line games, including a 48 game Superfinal head to head match, the latest development version of Komodo, has won the nTEC Chess Tournament
The tournament started with 36 top chess programs, and over four stages, only the top tier of the previous stage, advanced to the next one. Finally, our top two programs emerged for the super final: Stockfish and Komodo. Stockfish was the deeper searcher, and a tactical monster, while Komodo was a defensive master, pulling out draws even after we thought it was a lost game for sure, and like it's namesake, relentless on offense.
The chat window during the tournament, was heavily used, with VIP's joining in:
GM Larry Kaufman, and Mark Lefler (Komodo), Robert Houdart (Houdini), several members of the Stockfish team, Miguel Ballicora (Gaviota), Thomas Mayer (Quark), Jose Velasco (Bouquet), among a host of others.
The Stage 4 contestants were very strong, finishing up in this order:
1. Stockfish
2. Komodo
3. Houdini
4. Bouquet
5. Naum
6. Gull
Congrats to Martin Thoresen for a fine on-line CC tournament, with long time controls (120 minutes + 30 seconds per move), and all the chess program authors, testers, advisers and staff. I didn't see a single illegal move tried, or program crash.
Currently, all the games are still on the "live games" web site:
http://tcec.chessdom.com/live.php
but the next season of nTEC CC tournament, will be starting in late January, so these games will be moving to the archive, before too long.
