In a highly threaded application like the Fritzmark, it's 6 cores completely overwhelm the newer 4-core Sandy Bridge i7-2600K.
Even the AMD Phenom II X6 1100T has a respectable Fritzmark score of 11,677 because it is 6-core just like the i7-980X.
