Hi,
what do you think is enough to reach the title ?

1) Hardware: cores + memory
2) Software: engines + gui's
3) Databases, opening-books etc

?

Does it depend on what the non-GM's have?

I'm not a GM, but in my _very_ short experience in corr chess I have realized that is less about the equipment and more about analysis techniques. A good one can beat anyone running unattended IDeA on a 12 core.

By extension, I believe more in early analysis than in deep book lines.

I think yes :-). There should be a few components.

It sounds optimistic... but the good analysis requires good tools engines, GUIs, hardware.
Lets go to the details :-).

I.e. is there GUI which allows to run analysis >1 position paralelly ?
what engines shall be combined ?

Lets try to set up the tools for GM :-)
