New member with basic question

I just joined and I have a question.

Are there chess engines that have no random variables, such that in any given situation, the engine has exactly one best move and makes it?

Randomness may make games more challenging for humans, but when testing one algorithm against another the elimination of randomness would speed up the tests and ultimately prove whether one side has a forced checkmate from the beginning.

All engines with parallel search have some randomness.
All timed searches also have randomness.

Single thread engines searching a fixed number of nodes should always be the same.

I don't think randomness has anything to do with finding mates.
There are engines like matefinder that are coded specifically for this task.
