Whether Crafty Should Be Taken Seriously Any Longer?

Post by Sean Evans » Sun Oct 28, 2012 7:44 pm

Hello OpenChess,

Seems the ongoing censorship problems are occuring at CCC, so I will repost the POLL here:

Hello,

Crafty a chess software program developed by Hyatt and friends, has experienced a dramatic drop in its' ELO rating versus other computer chess programs. In fact, there has only been one upgrade in the last two-years and it no longer participates in serious computer chess tournaments!

These facts raise the poll question:

Whether Crafty Should Be Taken Seriously Any Longer?

Cordially,

Sean Evans

I think the REAL poll question should be "is there any justification whatsoever to take Sean Evans seriously, or even allow him to continue posting here?"

Fascinating, your lickspittles can lock threads at CCC, but not here at OpenChess. Why not just stick to the facts instead of Hyattian personal attacks!

Cordially,

Sean

I agree. I have never seen Sean Evans contribute anything useful. He is the very definition of troll. Moderators, please...

I am reminded of a quote, for which {tragically} I cannot remember proper attribution:
"Some people, you don't have to lampoon. You just quote them."

I think that the poll results speak for themselves. Although I tend to think that this sort of poll/post borders on the personal attack, it's shy of being "actionable". Dr Hyatt and his software are perfectly able to stick up for themselves, if they even feel that it's necessary...
