It's here, and it's commercial to the tune of 40 euro: http://www.cruxis.com/chess/houdini.htm.

I personally recommend that everyone go here and hit the big Donate button, instead, though.

After using GNU/Linux for many years, the full migration was completed earlier this year. will Komodo MP be commercial?

Yes, but their SP version will remain forever free, something I'd appreciate if other commercial programs did.

Yep -- looking forward to purchasing it. For the record, I have nothing against commercial software (I write it for a living, after all). You know what my problem with Houdini is.

Ok thanks. I was considering making a donation and now thinking I should just wait for the commercial release. We should always support honest developers.

Agreed 100%.

Unless commercial engines' sources codes are available for inspection (by a special group) to ensure actual codes from open-source and/or GPLed programs are not in commercial engines, then I feel confident to buy. If not, then I refuse to be taken for a "fool" by commercial engine authors on their commercial engines that could otherwise be a "repackaged" open-source GPL'ed engines.

Call me a pessimist, anti-democratic or whatever, but as long as commercial source codes are closed and/or unverifiable for authenticity, I'm always suspicious of commercial authors, with no special preferences.
