seems ppl likes the endless discussions about "clones" and the computer chess became from hobby to "politics-interests-marketing" about
damned "clones" , lately the ppl is interesting more for articles about "clones" issues rather than a pure computer chess discussion, and i think it wont stop.chess forums vs others chess forums etc...i wonder which will come first, the solved chess or the end of "clone" discsussions?

Sure beats talking about how my computer program beat your computer program while "playing chess".

the clone issue overwrites all other topics.
but... i am sure this will reduce sooner (or later).

ok. let us consider, why the hell took it so long to find out about rybka.
why were ippolit, strelka, houdini, ... banned and not tested
by the Elo-List guys, while rybka is still tested by them...

why did it all took so long.

let me guess. can it have to do with the fact that some despotic people,
admins, moderators, mostly people like graham banks, harvey williamson
and felix kling, and and and....

behaved like a police and banned anybody ?
shut down any discusion, banned people ?

as long as some people were able to exploit the market with rybka,
the crime was supported and accepted.

Good job King bought Popcorn. A question does spring to mind. How many beta versions of Hiarcs has Mark Uniacke sent you over the years? I am guessing it is quite a lot. So sadly you are a member of the Hiarcs team and I therefore disqualify you from this discussion as you are biased. You beta tested many versions that were sold by the demonic Chessbase. How can you live with yourself?

years ago, because all those things we discuss NOW, had been discussed in emails
and email groups years ago.

wrote my first reviews about hiarcs in those years when writing for
computerschach + spiele.
i was not capable to get more than a few sentences into the paper.
steinwender and friedel did not allow more space for an "unknown"
program at that time. this changed of course
with 1993 championship in munich. when friedel and morsch
appeared and tried first time to get a championship.
but fritz was stopped ... when i remember it correct... by gandalf
and other "nonames".
