"This domain name expired on 03/05/2011 and is pending renewal or deletion"

Is there a problem with "talkchess" ?

Looks like the domain name expired and is pending renewal or deletion. Better hope that Your Move Chess & Games decides that it's serving a purpose.

My feeling is they know that CCC generates about $0.00 revenue, so the club is now closed. The next step is how long it will take Hyatt to create a new CCC, which he can completely control!

Incorrect! People at times just forget to monitor the expiration date -- it happens to the bests of us...They are probably aware of the blunder and corrected it already. You seem to thrive only when attacking people Sean. The election you are still whining about was what CCC members based on your own poll wanted.

Didn't work for me. This is unusual since I had not seen such a problem before - usually it was about forum being down for a few hours or whole day.

When the domain expires, it can't be used until it's been renewed (paid for). That means that nobody can access the site by typing in the name.

It's possible that the owners decided to not continue to pay for it. I doubt this is the case, since maintaining the domain costs less than $10 per year, and the hosting fees for the little bit of bandwidth and space that the forum requires wouldn't be that expensive. If ChessUSA didn't want to pay for it anymore, it (or the costs) could be turned over to the moderators.

Most likely, nobody noticed that the domain was about to expire. If this is the case, it should be solved in the next day or so.
