Changes in LIVE Chess Rating/Ranking

Post by Swaminathan » Wed Mar 02, 2011 4:35 am

Vishy is back as #1 in rating again.

Nakamura has huge potential to reach #1 in few years time. There will be a competition between Nakamura, Ivanhcuk, Carlsen, Aronian.

All the old-timers are slowly seeing their rankings decrease the Karpov way. I thought experience plays some role? Now it's clear, the deliberate practice is the key.

By now, I was thinking Carlsen would have passed Anand, but the man is just getting better with age.

Or Carlsen is not keeping his mind on the game. Or hi is running out of gas. :- )

For me, it looks like Carlsen is not playing like he used to. Something is not right. Not sure what it is, though.

He loses much more often lately than he did for a long, long time
(versus opponents of equal strength as in previous years).

I hope he will be back.
