In the Medieval Inquisition-Rybka-forum CCRL rating list is vanished!

See their "Malleus Maleficarum ( Der Hexenhammer)" by Inquisitor Fefix Kling
as we all can see CCRL and CEGT is deleted.

Since there was quite some discussion in the last weeks, I want to point out what we don't want to see here:

-Piracy (linking to piracy websites and so on)
-Clone talk (talking about clones, linking to websites where you can download clones, linking or posting games or tests of clone engines)
-Offensive comments (being impolite to other forum users, troll posts)

Such posts will be deleted, censored or moved to the flip side/drama llama. For piracy you are banned instantly (this means you can't post anymore, all accounts (also new ones) will be banned).
Ignoring warnings from the moderation and repeatedly starting clone talk or making offensive comments leads to a ban, too. Usually it's a short ban first, so you get another chance, but this may vary as the case arises.

For those of you, who want to check which engines are clones and which aren't, I recommend looking at the engine's appearance (description on the website, engine name and so on) indicates if it's an original engine or just a clone.

Piracy and cloning obviously damages the programmers, who work hard (some work full time) on their engines. If you want to support development and innovation, you should be against piracy and cloning, too. Felix Kling

But the CCRL was removed from that post before it started testing Houdini.

CCRL WAS FORCED TO INCLUDE HOUDINI TO AVOID BEING RIDICULED!

Hello to All,

The truth is that both the CEGT and CCRL chess engines rating lists have been forced to put Houdini in their rating lists to avoid being ridiculed by those reading these chess engines rating lists who could not even see Houdini 1.5a, the current best, strongest, and first (by a significant margin) chess engine program in the world!
Quite a while ago, even before version 1.5, Houdini should already have been included in both the CEGT and CCRL chess engines rating lists because it was already the strongest chess engine in the world!

The sad truth about chess engines rating lists is that a few of them have a hidden agenda of not including in their lists strong chess engines to avoid dethroning their current pet chess engines (especially Rybka 4). Hard to believe but true.
See my post on this matter entitled "CCRL Forum censored my posting on Houdini 1.5 unjustifiably!" at http://www.open-chess.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=887

I HAVE ZERO CONFIDENCE ON THE CCRL RATING LISTS!!

Hello to All,

With my VERY BAD previous experience with the CCRL chess engines rating lists (see my post on this matter entitled "CCRL Forum censored my posting on Houdini 1.5 unjustifiably!" at http://www.open-chess.org/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=887 ), I HAVE ZERO CONFIDENCE ON THE CCRL CHESS ENGINES RATING LISTS!!! And that is an understatement! They are simply dishonest people and their results (whatever they are or whatever they will be in the future) are completely untrustworthy to say the least.

Having said that, I would like to hope that, with my complaints against them (even directly), they have learnt a lesson and they now try to change their dishonest ways! Let us wait and see.
A good test of whether or not they are going to try to dishonestly change the results obtained by Houdini 1.5a in their CCRL chess engines rating lists is the following. At the moment, Houdini is the strongest chess engine program in the world by a wide margin. If the CCRL chess engines rating lists do not concur with this fact (shown in the trustworthy chess engines rating lists that I provide below), then you will know that they have dishonestly tampered the results that they found concerning Houdini 1.5a! It is as simple as that!

I suggest four reliable and trustworthy chess engines rating lists. Reliable and trustworthy because they compile their chess engines rating lists honestly and they do not have a hidden agenda of wanting to avoid testing particular strong chess engines in order to keep their pet engines at the top! (see my post on this matter entitled "CCRL Forum censored my posting on Houdini 1.5 unjustifiably!")

1) The TCEC (Thoresen Chess Engines Competition) web site (40 MOVES IN 100 MIN+NEXT 20 MOVES IN 50 MIN+20 MIN FOR THE REST+10 S ADDED PER MOVE AT THIS LAST TIME CONTROL; 6 CORES; TABLEBASES USED; PONDER OFF; HASH USED; ALL OPENING MOVES ARE RANDOMLY FETCHED FROM A PGN FILE WHICH CONTAINS 200.810 DIFFERENT OPENINGS AND THEY ARE ALL FIXED TO 12 MOVES / 24 PLIES) at http://www.tcec-chess.org/
This site is outstanding!
In fact, IN TRUTH, IT IS THE TRUE WORLD COMPUTER CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP! Nothing less! By allowing to play 40 games between the best two chess engine programs who have been determined following tournaments in 6 divisions, you are confident to get, each year, the best two chess engines in the world and a very good idea of the strength of the other leading chess engines in the world.
It is not a chess engine rating list per se but it should give you a very good idea of which chess engines are currently the best, as it does several tournaments with the best chess engines available.
Check the listing and the rating of the chess engines that have played in each division (Elite Match, Division A to Division F) and you should have a very good idea which chess engines are currently the best in each division. Division A being a stronger division than Division B and so on and the Elite Match being a match between the current top two chess engines in the world (in 2010-2011, Houdini 1.5a is the best first strongest chess engine and Rybka 4.0 is a worthy second).
Highly recommended.
In particular, check the Elite Match between Houdini 1.5a and Rybka 4.0 (that is for the top two chess engines in the world) where Houdini 1.5a convincingly won against Rybka 4.0 in 2010-2011. Very interesting games have been played. See these games in the "Archive" section. Use the drop-down menu and select the Elite Match games.

2) The G/90mins Ratings (90 MIN TO PLAY ALL THEIR MOVES; 2 CORES; TABLEBASES USED; PONDER ON; HASH USED; OWN OPENING BOOK USED) at http://www.brinan.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/ ... atings.htm
This web site is outstanding!
Visit in particular the other links on this web site. Highly recommended.

3) The IPON-Rating-List (5 MIN/GAME+3 S/MOVE; 1 CORE; TABLEBASES USED; PONDER ON; HASH USED; 50 DIFFERENT OPENING POSITIONS [NO BOOKS] ) at http://www.inwoba.de/
For those more interested at how chess engines perform at playing quick games.

4) The SWCR Rating (40 MOVES IN 10 MIN; 1 CORE; TABLEBASES USED; PONDER ON; HASH USED; RANDOM OPENING BOOKS USED) at http://www.amateurschach.de/
Again, for those more interested at how chess engines perform at playing quick games.

WARNING:
Any chess engine rating list that avoids including the strongest chess engines (in particular Houdini 1.5!!) has basically a hidden agenda of wanting to avoid dethroning their pet chess engines (very often Rybka 4)!
Unfortunately, for quite some time, the CCRL and the CEGT chess engines rating lists have had a not-anymore-hidden agenda of favoring their pet chess engines by avoiding testing stronger chess engines!! In such a case, you know that these chess engines rating lists are completely unreliable and nothing less than dishonest!! Avoid them at all costs!!
In the near future, the CCRL and the CEGT chess engines rating lists will probably be forced to add the best current chess engine in the world, Houdini 1.5a, to their rating lists to avoid being ridiculed any further by those who complained about their dishonest way of choosing which chess engines to test in their rating lists and which to purposefully avoid testing!
[Update on 27/02/2011: the CCRL and the CEGT chess engines rating lists did include Houdini 1.5a to avoid being ridiculed any further! Does it mean that I trust these CCRL and the CEGT chess engines rating lists? NO! I still would have to be convinced that they would not alter the results that they have found testing Houdini 1.5a and I still could NOT guarantee this level of honesty with these CCRL and the CEGT chess engines rating lists!]
By carefully selecting dishonestly which chess engines to test and especially which ones to avoid testing (the stronger ones!), one could create completely bogus chess engines rating lists that are completely unreliable, with the only goal of keeping at the top someone's pet chess engines that have been dethroned by stronger and more recent chess engines!! Keep that in mind when you decide which chess engines rating lists to visit regularly! Unfortunately, that is the kind of dishonest game that these CCRL and the CEGT chess engines rating lists have played in the past and I hope they will change their dishonest way in the future!
