lichess marathon, epic failure

they tried to have a 24hr marathon on lichess.
this failed eipcly after 7 houts, a vcitm of its own success.
very very very sorry, and everyone is sleepy and dismayed.
tr again next time.

Update] Epic failure

Alright, so that didn't work: the server said "no".

This first marathon is a victim of its success. After 7 hours of activity, dealing with 530 persons in a single tournament playing no less than 4883 games was just too much. The server CPU was burning, something was wrong.

So I had to shut down the maraton in order to restore lichess normal health.

I'm am very very very sorry about that, and I apologize to all players. I know you prepared for that, I know you're sleepy and dismayed. Believe me, so am I.

So here we are, it's over. You can go to sleep now - I certainly want to.

We'll do it again. After that server stuff is dealt with.

This time, coopted by cheaters. first it was dutchpatzer deleted, then the leader g-Bianchi.
now he claims his real name is IM guillemro bianchi (argentinna). they want him to send in prove (lichess.contact@gmail.com)
the time contorl is 5+0, very easy to cheat online.
And fide thinks they can award titles this way?

now the story is that the cheater system mihgt have false positives.
they trapped phaffans too.

But there was recently maybe a few months ago a lot of additional criteria added to the cheat detection by the developers, so there have been a lot of false-positives get flagged and maybe one mod applies the flag but then other mods review it and it is removed. So posting this here I imagine will get the mods attention and they'll review your game history and let you know what happened.
